My CFO will never believe it but I am underconfident. I myself am slightly freaked out...

Couldn’t agree more that installers are the biggest blockers to heat pump conversion and getting them onboard is key!

Enjoyed this Ravi, was a little surprised that age rather than education was so much more an indicator of overconfidence, maybe because I’m getting old. Took the test and came out well calibrated, one for the oldies. Liked the heat pump idea. Reminded me of work I was involved in in late 2000s where something we tried to encourage people to get loft insulation was a partnership with the Scouts where they would help people clear their lofts as that was seen as a big impediment to people doing something. Anyway, look forward to future posts.

I had an idea for a 'heat pump lottery', giving them out for free to seed them in neighbourhoods around the country. But I like your idea better!

Enjoyed your article Ravi. According to the quiz I’m under confident, despite my age! I had looked into heat pumps before, when I was thinking about buying a house to renovate, but got the negative feedback you mentioned. Now if I get into that situation again I shall reconsider! Looking forward to more reads.

Seems like prediction markets have great potential as a risk management device. Not only does it tap into organisational knowledge, it could increase actual involvement and awareness (my experience of organisational risk management is mostly that leadership completely ignores it).
